The interface is brilliant but the DVR is very scattered and limited. No ability to sort and seems to switch to on demand very quickly even if not available on demand before you dvr. Also a little glitchy if having to pause multiple times (little kids) between the app and the Chromecast. Overall I do love the app but it’s not perfect.
YouTube TV App Reviews
Asombrosa
Funciona mejor que la tv de verdad. Puedo grabar mis películas y programas con un solo click. 100% recomendado
how is this a thing
it costs 40 dollars a month and brings you only a few channels, its asking too much for too little.
System is a mess
Not recommended. Wont allow cancellation for iOS browser. Wont Give me local live tv and wont connect to my home area because I made the mistake of not knowing that I could not sign up on vacation. Used my location services and completely ignored my activity history and billing address. Now Im stuck with a service I cant cancel.
Needs options
I need an option to set a home location so I can watch in another state also I want to watch over seas but cant do that so this is a pos!
Best option but still needs some features
I’ve enjoyed using YouTube TV on my iPhone 7+ quite a bit. I often turn on a movie or show just to listen to the audio while driving to work rather than listening to the radio. The unlimited DVR is what sets this service apart from all others. It allows me to record most everything on television that I’m interested in and watch at any point in time. With unlimited DVR you essentially have an archive of every broadcasted show available forever. YouTube TV is a long-term game changer! There are 2 major issues I’ve discovered that need updating before taking this service to a “must have” and that is casting functionality and programming changes. I’ve noticed many times that when I attempt to pause a show while casting to the chrome cast that it doesn’t pause. Can be very frustrating when you need to take care of something in the middle of watching a program. I’m excited for the launch of dedicated apps on Roku and Apple TV as I hope the experience is streamlined. Casting my eventually die but I hope these issues don’t translate to the apps. Also, there are many times that a program/sporting event with go into overtime or run long. Because the guide doesn’t change dynamically I’ve often went to watch a show that is not there because it is airing a run-over program. And because the next program afterward wasn’t set to my favorites the original show I intended to record wasn’t there. Lastly, I would love to see more networks added to this service to make this a 100% must have.
Apple TV please
I love you tube tv. Easy to use. Can you put in Apple TV please. And when can we get CNN
Great app
Smooth, elegant design. Faster than any settop box tv interface.
Love love love
Home internet isnt available where I live but this app works great with my cellular service ? Im a happy customer! If I had 2 wishes theyd be all channels streaming live and a few more, but for now Im pleased ?
Still under review...
The app is easy to navigate and use. My biggest complaint is using it with Apple play. The sounds goes off in the middle of a movie. I love the idea but not the performance us by my Apple TV.
Seems to be fantastic
My last review I gave a five. Now I give it a two. I love the selection of channels and the ability to record shows but now during playback of shows I cannot forward through commercials. I don’t like that it chooses which commercials to show me but more important than that I cannot avoid the commercials without leaving the room or muting the TV. If this doesn’t change I’m leaving the app. Paying $35 a month should eliminate the 2:09 ads 5 times a show.
Enjoying YouTube TV
1. Relatively inexpensive 2. Great functionality 3. Streams wonderfully
Good in some ways, but then totally frustrating
I like that you are able to choose programs to record and that it will then automatically let you play any previously aired episodes for the current season. I love that I dont have to deal with pixelation or other loss of signal issues like with my over-the-air antenna. BUT, the app constantly loses its connection to/from my phone and Chromecast so when I want to rewind or fast forward, Im left scrambling because I hit pause or any other button nothing happens on my tv (the app on the phone makes it look like its working fine). You either have to disconnect and reconnect the app from your Chromecast before it will work (and cross your fingers it doesnt start your program over from the beginning like it did to me twice today with a 2 hour long show), or you can try closing the app on your phone and reopening it and hopefully it reestablishes the connection. I would also change the 15 second forward to a 30 second fast forward so I can more quickly get through long commercial breaks (but keep the rewind shorter, like 10 seconds, in case you accidentally overshoot commercials using FF).
Good but could be better
For some reason the casting button disappears every day on my iPhone and I have to delete the app and load it again. Please put this app on Roku so I can control from there. Thank you!
Casting issues
Able to cast only the 1st time after downloading the app
best in class
tier 1: - youtube tv - ps vue tier 2: - sling tv now - hulu tv tier 3: - direct tv now
Little confusing
You should simplify this app
No!No!No!
You go to install the app and they ask you to get started BUT they don’t even tell you it costs $40/month. If it was more up front I would have considered keeping it , but to just charge people like that and not be up front is shady.
What network stations
Prime time TV is almost nonexistent.
Not available to me??
How is it not available to me? It’s the freaking internet
