Once the Roku stick is paired everything plays fine. Disconnect the Roku stick, exit the YouTube TV app, return to the app and now the icon for pairing has disappeared. Icon to pair with Apple TV is still there. I’ve even tried removing app and reinstalling and Roku pairing reappears, pairs fine, and once disconnected, disappears again. I would love You Tube TV over Sling TV because I get CBS, but having to reinstall the app every time in order to pair is not doable. They need to develop an app for Roku or just use through Apple TV. That platform seems stable.
YouTube TV App Reviews
The ultimate sell-out betrayal
Just what YouTube needs... to become an OTT cable network to be even more beholden to corporations, compounded by corporate censorship via ads a-la Jimmy Kimmel / Casey Neistat situation and horrible flagging, strikes and algorithms.
Great app and service
I love using this app. No problems here.
Pay attention to!
I downloaded the app to see how it works. A week later it charged me $39,00 without asking and to be honest, I dont remember agree with any subscribe.
It could work
I like the app and the streaming worked well, however, I feel that you need to offer either different packages or individual channels. I ended up cancelling my subscription because Im not really into watching sports all that much and there was like 10 plus sports channels that were a complete waste to me. I liked having several news channels available, including local, and some other programming like the CW, is essentially indispensable to me, but I dont need the sports channels and I felt like for the pricing structure I was losing out on a whole lot because of the sports channels I dont need. If you offered several package options, like a family plan, a sports plan, a news only plan, etc... and offered different pricing tiers I feel that you may draw more users. Bring the pricing down to $30 or less per month and it could be a good deal. Otherwise, Ill stick with Netflix only.
It’s worth it
It’s worth the $35 a month considering the competitors but it got confusing to setup family and the User interface isn’t as user friendly as I hoped. Everything is good about it but the confusion it provides at times. S
Didn’t Work
I Tried to Try it the app for free but it said I couldn’t because of where I lived??
Doesnt do it for me
Loses connection to Chromecast all the time. Cant pause. Cant move forward or back.
Notifications don’t work and iPad crashes

No NFL Primetime Games
I only tried YouTube TV because it was supposed to be live streaming of sports on your mobile devices. Unfortunately this does not include primetime NFL sports unless you view from a computer. Not worth $35 a month if I can’t view Sunday Night Football.
Tough Review
Heres the short of it: I love U-Tube TV! This is the best value in live streaming TV bar none. Period. Heres whats killing me: The app and operation of the service is loaded with quirks and maddening "bugga boos". Im willing to bear up with the quirks because the value proposition is so good. But, guys, eventually someone is going to eat your lunch if you dont improve the quality of the service! 11/19 - After three or four months as a subscriber, I’ve downgraded my rating to two stars from four. I love this service, but the abysmal iPhone operation in connection with the Chromecast device has started grating on my patience. I understand a native app for Apple TV is in the works. However unless it’s backward compatible with Apple TV 2, it’ll be of little value to me. Stay tuned
Numb
Its pretty pointless if your area is not compatible with youtube TV... it dosent make much sense, why advertise something that isnt even fully complete??? NEEDS WORK!
Love it
I love it and Im able to watch some of my favorite shows but it could have a little more selection of movies. Also it would be nice if Charmed and Angel the vampire was on here
Great interface
Please bring this to Apple TV
A lot of bugs they need to figure out
I love the concept of using this over cable. However, when using the app on my iPhone, I encounter some problems. First is the connection with chromecast. My app is up to date, as well as my chromecast. So why is it when I try to rewind, fast forward, or pause a tv program on the app, it doesn’t do it on the chromecast? Very frustrating. I have to reboot the entire app and reconnect with my IPhone. The second is that the captions/subtitles are always about 2 to 3 seconds behind and out of sync for a lot of programs. It’s not consistent and, again, very frustrating. Please fix these bugs, YouTube TV and I would have no problem giving you 5 stars!!
Not available in my location
I get so many ads on YouTube for this and I can’t even use the thing!
It is great
I have tried many online tv providers and streamed many show. YOUTUBE TV is the best.
Okay but can Improve
I heard about this service a few weeks ago and I have felt like we are getting ripped off by the cable companies so I decided to try PlayStation Vue and YouTube TV. So far out of both services, I can watch what I want to watch each week. I did find it strange that this app wasn’t available for Apple TV. I’m glad I can watch on the VZW unlimited network on the go but it would be great to have it up on my new 55” OLED TV. The TV might have the app but I don’t use the “smart” function of tvs. I use Apple TV primarily. The picture on my iPhone, ipad and macbook is crystal clear and I saw that it’s coming to the Apple TV so hopefully thats true. I haven’t had any trouble with the app so far but I have limited use so far.
Have fun trying to cancel.
Plus stinks that it doesn’t have TNT or TBS. recording sports stinks if you record and come back when the game is still on it makes you watch live, not where you left off. Also tried to charge me 39.99/month instead of the advertised 35.00/month. Because I signed up before the promotion. Stupid!!!
Can’t use until update
Went to use the app but app won’t run until new update is installed. Unfortunately, after trying repeatedly over the course of the afternoon, the update won’t download. Tried on both iPhone and iPad.
