Casting

I can only cast once to the TV, then need to delete the app, reinstall to be able to do it again. Quite the pain.

Not free like advertise

They wanted to charge me $39.99 a month

Useless ... does not offer any advantage over cable

Useless app. It does not offer any advantage over cable but has more disadvantages. It is again tied to home wifi. Cannot watch major sport events on mobile outside home. It needs castings device like chromecast to watch on tv. Its costly and offers lesser channels than regular cable.

App crashes

Just purchased the app and now I can’t even open it. App immediately crashes when attempting to open. Tried restarting phone and re downloading app with no success. Disappointing and waste of money.

Access is too restrictive

One of the primary reasons I moved to YouTubetv was so that I could have access anywhere. The claim that you can watch in any screen is false! There is considerable content that I am unable to watch on my mobile device, and I am unable to watch when outside of the country. They tout mobile access, but it’s really not. It’s basically “watch while you’re at home” access. Not happy!

Perfect

Just what I need & works really well across all platforms don’t snooze on YouTube red either there’s some fun stuff there.

Not much channels. Difficult to cancel membership

For $35, I think I better off to go with Direct TV. Still wasn’t able to cancel membership

Search engine won’t work for some words

Such as terminator.

Needs more work

A big concern is that there’s no way to extend time for crucial sports games. Often games going to overtime in this part of the game is not recorded. Very disappointing. Overall is a great app and service.

App always loses connection to chromecast.

The app loses connection to chromecast constantly. All the reviews say the same thing. Google, you know this is a problem. $35 a month = you guys need to fix this in a hurry. Aside from that, this is better than most other options, but I would not recommend this service until the connection issue is resolved.

Love YouTube TV!

Perfect service & all the channels we need for an excellent price! We live in a rural area with great internet but no access to cable TV. YouTube TV is perfect for us. We have no issues with quality or access. Local networks & sports...were happy customers. Even got a free Chromecast with our first paid month. I recommend to everyone.

Hard to cancel

Google Puts you in loop and then tells you to contact customer support. Hit cancel and it does nothing but a contact message. Still haven’t been able to cancel. Cant delete the card associated with the sub, gives me an active subscription error.

Subscriber Beware

I signed up for the free trial, which I shared with family members. (Up to six Google accounts are supposed to be able to access one subscription.) I cancelled my subscription via the website (which is how I signed up) prior to the end of the trial period. I have email confirmation of the cancellation. Still, I was charged $39.99 via iTunes after canceling the service. Whats more, my wife was also charged $39.99 via iTunes for this service that we cancelled. So we paid $80 for a nonexistent subscription that we cant watch. Trying to get our money back!

Roku cast actually worked until

2018/01/19 Update: Lowering my rating as Development has not posted a response to my concerns. I will also notify family and friends that use Roku about the issue and ask them to try out the app and rate it. Original Post: Want to Switch to using YouTube TV from PlayStation Vue but apparently it doesnt yet support Roku streaming. Weird thing when I first ran the app it let me pick my Roku devices and worked just like the regular YouTube app but then I added the secondary accounts and it stopped showing the Roku devices and only shows the old Chrome Cast device. It is obvious they know how to Roku cast but they have purposely disabled it and I got thru with some sort of bug. That seems a bit dishonest IMO.

Okay product, bad customer support.

Was having some problems tried to get some help ended up getting no help

Family sharing limitations

I canceled my subscription to google music and moved to another music subscription service because I couldn’t use family sharing. This service has the same limitation. To be a family, google requires that each member have a gmail email address. It cannot be a GSuite address that is hosted by google and it certainly can’t be an outlook.com address. To be fair, the app itself seems fine. The service is interesting and I would like to buy it. That’s why I’m not giving one star. It was a lot of effort to switch from google to another service for music but no other service has these family sharing limitations. I will not subscribe to this service either.

Very cool but...

there is no YouTube TV app for Apple TV yet. Will renew subscription when there is an Apple TV app. I’m not going to pay $40 a month for an app that doesn’t have an app for Apple TV yet because I’m not going to watch tv on my phone or iPad every time I want to watch something. ? AND I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO Airplay something because sometimes I’d like to watch a clip or a friends snapchat during commercials and it’ll interrupt what I have playing. Sometimes I like to snapchat what I’m watching and I can’t do that while AirPlaying. Also, I wish there were more channels! ?

Subscribe?

There needs to be a notification that you are subscribing to a service not just a get button to download the app. I don’t want to subscribe, I want to look. I don’t want to have to hunt down how to cancel a subscription. The fingerprint verification needs to offer one more step before you get the app subscription.

Potential to be amazing - just not there yet for $39

Eventually it’ll happen...but sadly there just are not enough channel options to justify paying $39 a month; especially with the other options available out there plus it doesn’t include any premium. I’m all for cutting out the big cable companies and their old school models, but don’t bring in their old school tricks, way of thinking...and especially the rip off pricing...common, we have to sit through endless commercials that you’re making money on. If anything I should get paid by you. Yet no one brings this up. There are still 3-7min commercial breaks, seriously that is old school; you’ve lost me already. If you include them then please make it a free service and then an add free service. Think out of the box. Also I’d rather have 10, 10 second ads than 7-8 minutes unless it’s at the very end and I can turn off the tube. Adverts longer than 10-15 seconds if anything builds user frustration. Anyhow, until the pricing is reasonable and content options are significantly enhanced I can’t imagine paying $39. I love the DVR feature but let’s be real, I’m just steaming. It would be amazing if I could have split screens easily up and watch 2,4,8 shows or whatever at a time. You have the capability in the live view it already does that. Just would have thought doing things like that would be automatically done. Thanks! Good luck.

App doesn’t work at all!

I bought a subscription on the YouTube TV website and tried to use it on my iPhone 8 Plus. The app FREEZES AND CRASHES every time I open it! Called support and they said they’d have it fixed within a couple weeks. It’s now been over a month. Very disappointed.
