The app is great but the only problem it has is every time I turn the app off and back on the casting icon disappear and I have to delete and redownload the app.

Getting Worse With Each Use
YouTube (Google) needs to grow up and play with the rest of the kids. This app has so much potential but, the worst part is having to use your phone or tablet to stream to your TV. My mobile device being the remote is NOT a plus. If using my phone to stream and a call comes in, everyone watching the show has to wait because it interrupts the stream. The program being watched then restarts from the beginning. A number of channels won’t let you fast forward commercials and the extra stream from the phone to the device (especially Apple TV) degrades the quality of the video constantly because of the bandwidth being sucked up. On some stations (ABC in particular) every commercial break causes the stream to stop and you have to use the tablet or phone to get it going again. When this happens, the program often restarts at the beginning. It’s beyond time for an app on Apple TV, Roku, etc. If one doesn’t come out by February I’m dropping this service for Hulu Live.
Cast feature disappears
Casting option disappears. Had to reinstall app for it to reappear. Its now gone again.
Overpriced subscription required to steam what other corporations do for much less.
The service quality is okay but it is ridiculous to expect consumers to pay $40/mo when other service providers will do for under $10/mo. Use the 7 day trial and see for yourself just be sure to watch the calendar so that you terminate your trial before the big hit if you are as unimpressed as I am.
Cool, but not great
Streaming football over mobile is out, & no HGTV for the wife.
Great app: for devices that can download it; not quite a TV replacement...
The point of this review is to urge Google: PLEASE RELEASE THE APPLE TV APP! (Along with the ROKU, VIZIO, etc...) I am dying to get away from my cable provider and this would be perfect! For me, YouTube DVR beats all the other internet-based tv services. It’s a very nice, easy to use app (on devices you can download it from the App Store) if you want to watch it on your TV using AirPlay, it’s cumbersome and lagging. Thus, the native app is needed. Otherwise, the service would be flawless.
Flawed
Good start for cord cutters. However, this app is technically limited. For example, it does not support split view. Or video does not continue to play if you close the app. As a result it feels like blast from the past world of single tasking.
NOT FOR KIDS!
When I have downloaded the app I thought it would be cool for my kids but when I have got it there was nothing for kids.
Good, but could use improving
I love that you can get your local channels, I hate that there’s so many sports channels and not so many other options such as HGTV, History Channel, etc, but there’s still plenty enough to choose from, ESPECIALLY with the built in DVR cloud feature. I love that. Would love to see you improve the watching experience for iPad Pro users and implement PiP and Split-View into the app. Would also love to see an Apple TV app instead of just Chromecast for those of us invested in the Apple ecosystem. Lastly, along with some other folks, I would like to see the fast forward increased to 30 seconds to help get through the commercials quicker, but leave the skip back at 10 seconds. Overall, a good app.
Good
I like the service but if they don’t develop app for Apple TV, I will switch to streaming service that provides one. Yes you can cast to tv from phone or iPad but that is getting old. If they give me standalone tv app, I will up the rating
BEWARE OF BAIT & SWITCH
Illegally signs you up and gives NO WAY to stop the “trial” period which ends up charging the monthly fee of $39.95 which is not given until you’re signed up. There is nothing in the app that lets you opt out. Very poor marketing. Worse than a bad used car lot.
Cast button intermittent
Great app, just having trouble casting to my smart tv (YouTube installed) and chrome cast device. The app on my iOS 11 device doesn’t show the cast option. Yet the regular YouTube app does. Uninstalling and reinstalling the YouTube TV app solved the issue.
Great Product
The app is very user friendly. It’s easy to search for shows, movies, teams, or topics, and set them to record. Browsing live TV is fast, and it shows the network, show name, and a picture of the show. While watching a show, There are almost no issues with buffering. There is a good selection of on-demand shows and movies, all part of the $35 basic monthly subscription fee. Not a YouTube TV issue, but I wish I could select any zip code to receive the local channels for that area during the length of subscription.
Iphone 10. Won’t Work
You have to double tap the home button and on the iPhone X there is no home button. Let’s get it together Developer
Fix the ads
The ads mess up the show every time. They won’t start or the restart. Fix the ads!!!!! I have to rewatch 5 ads if my phone rings in the middle of them. Sometimes my phone skips the ads all together. Sometimes my the ads cause the show to display a loading screen and I have to restart my phone. If the ad problem isn’t fixed soon I’m unsubscribing!!!!!!!!!!
Television
Tv
Needs AppleTV App ASAP
Then they’ll get a 5-star rating from me. Using the app over Air Play isn’t cutting it
The air cast icon on the app keeps disappearing
The air cast icon on the app keeps disappearing. When I switch from smart tv on my Roku to regular tv and back, I find that I can’t play YouTube TV again. I called once to customer service and the guy told me to uninstall and reinstall which works but then I end up jacking to do it everyday and each time I watch stuff on the app. This is very annoying! there should be a better and permanent fix for this. I’m not having this problem with the regular YouTube app... the air cast icon is always there, but not on the YouTube TV app ?
It’s fine
For a moment when the other three services have garbage, I’ll watch this garbage. It all garbage.
