I really like the app, in particular on the iPad. This is the future of television. Only glaring issue is that the picture is washed out and substandard when Chromecasting. If that was fixed this would be 5 stars

Been using it for about 7 days, had one bad streaming experience with a basketball game, but it corrected itself after a few minutes. Unlimited cloud DVR is best among the streaming services. I’ll never go back to cable again!

1. Hard to control menus; 2. No favorites list!?; Instead, Google picks show they like and put them on your top menu; 3. No way to take a screenshot of programming for personal, non-commercial use.

My main problem with the YouTube app and for that matter all streaming apps is that they do such a miserable job of pre presenting a schedule of all programs over all channels over all times. Dark and say squares to do that as we know from experience with cable TV. The streaming apps all have to be use these in enormas icons/graphics and they don’t even tell you what the channel is half the time.

There are a few TV programs that Im very much addicted to and thanks to this app I dont have to miss a single one of them.

I like the interface also I like that its easy to use but there are issues with this app. I would hope soon that split screen for the iPad is coming soon, also more channels like ID and Starz would be nice. I notice sometimes when I use chromecast and streaming a program the signal would be lost. Once I see progress then my star rate will change

Feels good to reduce the cable bill. Although missing a few channels I like, regional nba games and the recording options are great. Better than a DVR. Maybe not as good as xfinity box and voice remote, but their DVR slow and always had issues. I have not had any issues with the app or Xbox streaming. I think most people have internet issues. Enjoy! Give a try. I did, took me awhile, but the cable shackles off. If only I could get rid of xfinity internet!$$

We’ve been really happy with the app and the service overall. Have not been experiencing buffering or glitches that we did with other streaming apps. We are missing Travel and History channel, though. Any chance you’ll be adding those to your lineup?

Beware!! They make it very difficult to cancel!!

This app is frustrating enough that Im not going to extend my trial to be a regular subscriber. After so many minutes it claims to be unable to determine my location and kills what Im watching. Who needs this mediocre level of performance for the monthly fee? Google has failed to show any skill here. Whats even worse is that the apps send feedback function crashes. This must be Googles form of entertainment. How unprofessional.

You could be charged 39.99 immediately when you open the app. Apple will refund your $ if your not happy. I called 1 800 692 7753. Theresa at Apple was friendly and so helpful. They refunded my money and reported the problem with the app.

For the channels I want, and with “unlimited” dvr, this is the best deal in town. Hoping they will continue to improve the interface (desperately needs an actual guide), app reliability (a disaster on 4K Apple TV) and DVR recording navigation (seriously, TiVo had this stuff perfected 10+ years ago). As for the “unlimited” dvr, it actually only keeps your recordings for 9 months. The storage space is more than generous, but I hate being told I have to watch a show within that time frame. I used to frequently get a couple of seasons behind on hows when I was using TiVo. Can’t do that now with the 9 moth deletion timer. Let’s hope that gets better.

Video does not stop streaming when you turn your tv off.

My review echoes that of other users. The app disconnects from my Chromecast often. This almost always happens when I either lock my iPhone and I unlock my phone, or when I switch between another app or go to my home screen. This seems to be a similar problem with other apps like Netflix, but they seem to handle it better. It seems to me Google should be able to fix this behavior as they should be experts in implementing their own API, or they should prioritize this bug higher in their backlog if they already know about it. I would also like a way to turn off live previews of channels. Sports scores have been spoiled a couple of times for programs that were in the process of recording that I was intending to watch from the beginning.

I rather pay for cable! I think that was the whole point of cable free. Whoever thought of this idea didn’t think about the price point.

When cable cost we’re getting out of control, I looked at sling and YouTube tv. I originally went with sling but just never felt I got my money’s worth. When I made the switch to YouTube tv, I honestly couldn’t have asked for more. The app just works. It has all the channels I want, unlimited dvr, and to add new channels at no cost was the cherry on top. I’ve recommended youtubetv to my friends and family and will continue to. Great product

Great app, very convenient and the ability to record shows is great. The only channel I am missing is NFL Network, hopefully that comes soon.

I would say by far the best tv subscription in US. And the app is sooper responsive and easy to use. One feature I’d love to have is even if you start recording the show in the middle of it it should give me a recording from start that way If I forgot to record something before the show is live I can still start recording while it’s still on and has the full recording. That will be awesome.
