Perfect service & all the channels we need for an excellent price! We live in a rural area with great internet but no access to cable TV. YouTube TV is perfect for us. We have no issues with quality or access. Local networks & sports...were happy customers. Even got a free Chromecast with our first paid month. I recommend to everyone. Edited: Now theres a Roku app!! Love this even more. Can I give it 10 stars?!?!

YouTube TV is advertised as $35/mo in my area (Boston). The first time I signed up, I was charged $45 so I canceled. Today I signed up again and I was charged $40. Wait what? Ok so let’s talk about the experience: the AppleTV app does work as advertised and streaming was not an issue in my house. What I struggle with are the ads on previously-recorded shows. I cannot fast forward through them. Sometimes the entire loop of four ads plays twice (total of 8 ads) before the show resumes. In conclusion, I’m paying $40/month, which is more expensive than Xfinity and more expensive than Google advertises, sometimes there are 8 ads when there should only be 4 ads, and most importantly, I am unable to fast-forward through the ads. I just don’t see this model as being a solution that consumers will pay for month after month, myself included.

I like the fact that you don’t have a cable bill I like the fact that you don’t have to pay for channels your not watching

I dont get the cast option when Im connected to Chromecast hence the poor rating (cuz it really pisses me off) Otherwise content wise its a great app

Great service and channel selection. The app is mostly very stable and user friendly. I’d definitely recommend it. My biggest request would be the ability to switch between profiles on the Apple TV app since it’s a shared device on our family TV. A few other nice to haves would be the ability to set up a smart recording based on a keyword like I could with Google Fiber TV if a particular movie or show I want to watch isn’t scheduled in the near future, and more granular recording options like choosing to only record new episodes vs. new and reruns.

Ok, I added another star like promised (Roku) and Apple TV apps are now available. I’ll add 1 more star when a roku and Apple TV app appears, I’ll give another star when 1080p is more abundant than 720p, I’ll give kudos if 5.1 surround becomes available. Until then, it is still a good app.

Poor stole my money

Great service but I keep getting recommendations for Fox News. I despise this trash. How can we blacklist channels or at the very least remove them from our top picks? Have to mark it as a one star app until we can blacklist the garbage.

LOVE THIS APP!!!! YouTube and Amazon need to play nice with each other.

I love the app, but it will be great if they can include more Spanish channels. Right now there’s only one that is Telemundo, that is like having nothing at all.

In previous versions of the app, I had to delete and reinstall the app every time I wanted to cast to my TV. Now the cast button is just gone and I cant get it at all. On any of my devices. So. Obnoxious.

Why is the public subject to conjecture about whether Google will be offering Roku support for YouTube TV? Why wouldn’t you want Roku users to have access and subscribe to a great service? When will the YouTube TV channel for Roku become available?? Please advise, thanks.

Changing the rating until the app is fixed!!!!! When streaming a recorded show the commercials pause the programming and require constant attention to start the streaming!!!!! Awful!!! Seems to happen more often late night early morning and makes YouTube tv unusable!!!!!!! Over the experience is great. The app alerts constantly asking to setup notifications no matter what is setup. App Alert FIXED!!! Awesome!!! Thank you.... The other issue is the Application locks up. If you watch a tv show using wifi and pause it, then lock the phone. When you come back to the app and hit the play icon on the paused show the icon changes to a spinning icon to show like its cueing to play but its unable to continue playing and locks up the app to where you have to force close the entire app and restart it. A work around is making sure to always hit the + icon and save any program your going to want to come back and watch expecting to have to restart the app often.

The idea of uTube TV is great. I appreciate the programming, availability on the road and great value. Using uTube TV my phone or Chromecast is a horror! After starting a program on Chromecast the phone app becomes unresponsive after a few minutes requiring the Chromecast to be disconnected and reconnected, or the app to be unloaded and reloaded on the phone! In addition, recorded programming can force a viewer to watch commercials while disabling the advance controls. From my perspective, I pay for premium programming so I can avoid annoying commercials! This is no way to run a business.

YouTube TV is great but I didn’t realize that when you sign up via iTunes, Apple charges more ($39.99). I immediately cancelled after I realized it and will subscribe again directly through Google.
