Local Fox
Cloud Based DVR disappoints
Cloud Based DVR disappoints with excessive buffering that makes immediate replays of sports action impossible. If you select pause, be ready to miss some action.
Everything I Want
I have been using YouTube TV for 2 weeks now and absolutely love it. It has every sports channel I need including my regional favorits. Streaming the 4 major local networks without putting up an antenna is exactly what I was waiting for. So far the stream quaility has been solid. I wont be switching off any time soon. The only change I will make is canceling my Apple subscription. Its rediculous to pay an extra $5 just because the subscription is managed by my iTunes account. Ill save the $5 and setup payment directly with YouTube TV thanks. Otherwise, completely love it!
Lots of pros and many cons
Pretty cool app especially when I can cast it to pretty much any smart tv. Works a whole lot better on an android phone . Channels aren’t worth the cost. Unless they add a whole lot more channels ,I would be on the sidelines.
Cool- but doesn’t have iPhone X suppport
Doesn’t allow to zoom to fill the entire screen, no different from any other phone out there.
Must have CNN
Must have CNN. Not worth it!
Save your $$
This app charged me $40 a month. I understand commercials will be on live tv but 3 minutes of advertisement interruptions every 5 minutes when I’m not even streaming live shows is absolutely not worth the cost. Also canceling subscription is not available via the app you have to contact Apple....stick with Netflix ..
Reinstall
I have to reinstall every time I close the app and open it
The channel listing
Great app the channel guide in the mobile mode could be more intuitive
I loved it til I tried it. But...
Great concept, great price, great feel of the app. I was ready to let you tube tv replace my current cable box/company. It was Christmas Eve and I was watching the Cowboys game when I said, let me watch it on my YouTube tv and see what it’s like. But no, it’s blocked on my iphone... for whatever reason. I didn’t like that. While looking at the channel lineup I noticed Nickelodeon was not on the list and a lot of show my child loves are on those channels. Had like three Disney channels but no Nickelodeon. Other than those two major (for me personally) problems I loved it. I had to call the company to cancel which was not bad because they immediately cancelled with zero questions asked, except, is there anything else I can help you with today? I may look at this in the future but right now it won’t work for me and my family.
It as advertised good.
Great alternative to streaming live tv through cable provider.
Desperately needs more channels
Best interface of all the streaming services!! The only thing holding YouTubeTV back Is it’s anemic channel lineup. If you combine YouTubeTV’s interface with DirecTV’s channel you would have a winner.
LTE Streaming is HORRIBLE
When I am streaming on my 1 gigabit connection everything is fine. When I am on 150Mbps LTE, the stream loads in at 144p and rarely ever reaches 720p resolution. DirecTV NOW And Hulu Live have FAR superior video quality on LTE.
Does not deliver live TV as advertised.
Downloaded the app. Tried to watch Steelers vs Texans NFL game. Got the message “This program’s unavailable on mobile devices.” The ad they are running on TV for this is all hype. Cancelling trial subscription right now.
$40/mo for few channels and watching ads!!!
$40/mo is an insult, for few channels and watching, are you crazy. You must be thinking that people are stupid or something. I wouldn’t subscribe to this if it was free. People are trying to cut cable and the outrageous cost , not the other way around.
Charges/contact address- email
The charges are $35 pm for 5 accounts. Senior cites do not have 5 persons to share. So reduce rate to senior citizen to $5 per month.
Plan on playing tech support
I use it to cast to my TV. Good when it works, but... Screen freezes are frequent Cast button disappears (from all devices- computer running Chrome, iPhone and iPad) frequently Refuses to connect to TV occasionally Not for those who expect it to “just work” like cable. Some problems may be the fault of ISP ATT but Google fiber has been promised for more than 6 years in Atlanta so far and is still vapor for all but a few new apartment buildings. Bummer
Major bug with casting
None of my streaming devices have apps for this so I have to cast from my iPhone to my tv. EVERY TIME I use the app I have to delete it from my phone and re-download it because the casting button disappears the next time the app is opened.
Nice
I thought it came with a lot more but I like it
Great (with Chromecast)
Overall, after the week trial, I keep the service and cut the cord as it is a great value (half price from cable). I also have faith the service will improve overtime to become as easy to use as cable. Here is my detailed review - The great: - has all the channels I want, except CNN and Chicago WGN (hope this is coming soon). Great value value right there. 5 stars when you have CNN. - unlimited DVR - insane ... this is worth 5 stars, no competition. - family accounts so our scattered family in 3 different cities all share, this includes the local channels - user interface: great after some getting used to, like it took me a while to uncover TV listing scrolling (hint: in live, click on channel logo). How to best use it: - for big screen experience I use Chromecast and a dedicated old Android phone, as multitasking on the casting device can interrupt the TV stream. Note that I was using an Apple TV gen 4 prior receiving the Chromecast and I had a number of casting issues that cleared with Chromecast (like loosing the stream in VOD when going to commercials). Could be improved: -in VOD the image quality is not great. Heavy pixelation in the dark areas. - the program search does not include the local channels
