Buggy. Freezes often. App will stop working completely at times. Not as many channels as some other options.
YouTube TV App Reviews
Buggy
Needs a listing
This app needs a TV listing. Seeing what is on now is extremely limited. What if I want to see what’s on tonight or tomorrow?
App is terrible
Been watching for awhile now. Show will continually lose its place and start over but not until you suffer through another 6 commercials. Also will start over but the sound will continue on, need to close app and again watch commercials (which play perfectly). This happens repeatedly over the course of an hour show. Plus even though you can have 6 profiles only 3 can watch at the same time. They need to update the app for better viewing.
Good start
Easy to use and makes navigating life TV pretty simple. It’s guide function for future shows seems to be lacking some depth as it is not necessarily aware of shows that may exist on a network which can be frustrating when you see commercials for that show and you want to schedule a recording.
Needs better iPad Pro/iOS 11 Integration
Just switched from Playstation Vue to YouTube TV due to the later offering all the channels I wanted at a cheaper price. The platform is different - but good. My problem is the lack of modern features to integrate it with multitasking on iPad Pro. The app doesn’t work with the persistent video overlay feature (Vue does). It doesn’t work in split screen either. I would like to continue to work/consume on my iPad while watching video and I just don’t have that option with the app yet.
Glorious
It’s pretty amazing for to take on the go and watch live tv but it just need like a lot of channels and it be the best
Guide Channel
Unless i can’t find it right: Missing a guide channel for subsequent shows. The live channel guide is great but I can’t see what’s on next on those channels w/o actually clicking on the channel and changing my tv channel. I think the functionality would be significantly improved if I could: watch ESPN while also being able to see what’s on in 2 hours on CBS.
Just an average joe
Holy crap $39.99 per month. You’re funny hahaahhahahahahaha Really you tube 40 bucks a months bahabahabaha You can get direct tv now for $25.00 a month and get way more channels
Hi
Does it have any sexy channels or not?
Not worth the price
For forty dollars I don’t think it’s worth that price point and you really don’t get that many channels it’s worth maybe half the price not only that let’s say you wanted YouTube red which is like ten dollars why don’t they just combine the two in one price.
Must connect for NFL
Minus a star because NFL games can’t be watched on mobile (probably due to the NFL Mobile partnership with Verizon), you have to connect to your tv. Otherwise its $ well spent on a great app, especially if you’re a big YouTube user
Free or not free (its not)
If youre going to advertise free and charge more than cable (49.99) Im going to tell you to go fukc off!
Great app on iPhone
This is a great app for the iPhone and tablet alike. it has a slick interface especially when you’re scrolling through live TV . Looking forward to it one day being available on Apple TV. Only drawback so far is that there is no MLB network.
Good
I’ll add 1 more star when a roku and Apple TV app appears, I’ll give another star when 1080p is more abundant than 720p, I’ll give kudos if 5.1 surround becomes available. Until then, it is still a good app.
Great but needs Roku App!
I’ve been trying different streaming services (DirecTV now, Sling, Hulu + live TV) and I like YouTube TV the best. Great lineup, great user interface, and great streaming quality. In my opinion, beats all the competition. HOWEVER. The lack of an app to allow me to watch on my TV via Roku is disappointing. Allegedly an app for Roku is coming but no timetable on when. The stream on mobile and laptop is quite good and the captions and DVR option are intuitive and easily used. When the Roku app finally does arrive, I’ll be a satisfied paying customer. Until then, I’ll wait on the sidelines as watching via Roku is still my preferred method.
Fantastic
I on love this app. Not sure I would change anything. Very easy to use. Has everything I want.
No sports
Works for stuff other than sports. I like nba. I set the Lakers & the Warriors to record. They both had games but did not record. The app showed unavailable. I reached out to YouTube tv chat tech support. I restarted app. I uninstalled/installed app on my iPhone. Didnt work. They told me it works for me. No help. No help. No help. I cancelled DirecTV and chose YouTube tv as my 1st choice from my friends recommendation. Im in my trial period. Bet my credit card gets charged
Awesome But...
Please make an Apple TV version please
Price review not app related
Did not give this a try as I feel I get more value for my money with Sling TV, more options for additional packages as well. Seeing as I will never go to Direct TV again Sling has the better packages and pricing.
Almost there but not quite
I love YouTube TV, the programming, the unlimited recording, watching live tv anywhere anytime. My complaint is the app itself. First of all, on the iPhone you can’t see what’s playing next on live TV. This drives me crazy. Lastly, my phone continually disconnects from my Chromecast. This doesn’t stop play, but every time I want to change channels, pause, rewind etc, I have to force quit the app and restart it. Super annoying
