I have used Hulu, Comcast, and Direct TVNow up until discovering YouTube TV. Vastly superior UI. Unlimited DVR. They continue to add more channels at no additional cost. That $35 pricing is the sweet spot. The only knock I can give YouTube, is the depth of their on-demand. Some shows are not available until nearly 3-5 days later. Also plenty of channels are missing on-demand content as well

Where is the free trial that has been offered? I’ve read that there is a month free trial but when i sign up it states that i have to pay $40 upfront. I want to try this service but do not want to pay $40 before i switch from Sling TV.

I’ve tried them all; Sling, Direct TV, Playstation Vue. YouTube TV is a better value and a better interface. The cloud DVR is incredible. Record everything you would ever want, there’s no limit.

I love YouTubeTV but the app is a bit cumbersome to navigate. I wish it was more like the guides you see with traditional cable. Also, my number one reason for having cable is a local sports channel that carries the local NBA team which YouTubeTV does not include so I still have cable...at least until the season ends.

This app is awesome. Very few problems considering the cost for YouTube TV compared to the cost for the crappy content provided by cable companies.

I’m very excited about the future and will stick with it but I think that streaming has a way to go with video quality and increased frame rates (60 FPS) on all channels. It’s especially noticeable when watching sports on a 120 projection screen. It makes you dizzy. (First world problems though.)

Finally, an app that I can watch live TV on my phone without a cable provider. I can watch my local networks, as well as national and regional networks, just like on cable TV. This is one of the best apps Ive ever seen! Id like to see the discovery, lifetime, Hallmark, A and E and the Weather Channel, but perhaps those will be available one day. For now, its still one of the best apps out there today!! Thank you! Keep up the good work, dont EVER quit!!!

I get we’re reinventing TV, and I love what YouTube TV brings to the table in that regards. It seems pretty intuitive when it comes to setting up recordings and the recommendations. However, I feel like using the fast forward controls on the app need some fixing. I use Apple TV and iPhone and just getting into the fast forward area is difficult as one little slight swipe up or down puts me into other options like different programming. That’s my only gripe!!!

I decided to try this as an alternative to the many problems I have with Hulu live tv. First, You Tube tv is cheaper. I prefer the UI with Youtube TV, and the stream quality seems to be better - no skipping, no playing the same 10 seconds 3 times in a row, and no restarting live feed once a show ends. Cons for me are there are WAY too many sports channels and missing History and Travel channels. Update 3/27/18: after using this for a few weeks, here are some things that would make this WAY better: Stop adding sports channels and instead a better variety of channels. Allow user to hide channels not interested in and sort channel list, get NBC live (not just on demand) No way to know which episodes/shows that has been watched, I am smart, but cant remember everything. No way to un-clutter DVR to remove stuff I already watched since i cant just remove a single episode, clock isnt available on the guide and the iOS control to show timeline during playback doesnt wok (ie current time and then when show will end). And lastly, stop recording episodes already recorded. Makes me think there is something new to watch, although I may have already watched it.

The best tv app

I’m not having any connection problems! I love the free DVR too!! I tried Swing and DirectNow along with YouTube tv and DirectNow was really good but having the free DVR is what makes a huge difference. I’m not at home to watch shows when they air. I also really like that I can watch live tv and my recorded shows on my phone or Ipad when away from home and on WiFi! The only suggestion I have is that I wish the different channels actually had numbers that I could punch in so I don’t have to go through all of them to get to the channel I want.

I really have no complaints as this allowed me to finally ditch Comcast and their ridiculous rates. Hoping to see Viacom channels and Lifetime Network and it will be the only streaming service I use!

Not worth the money at all

I cannot open to watch anything on here. I have iPhone 6s YouTube plays but YouTube TV just spins and spins. What the hell did you guys do to it?

YouTube TV is versatile and user friendly. It is a lot of streaming capability for the price.

I have had the service for 3 months and I won’t ever go back to cable again. I love it! The only improvement I would suggest is to have a better guide similar to the cable/satellite. Other than that, no complaints!

At $39.99 a month, NO!!!
